YES – IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

ACTS 3:16: “By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.” CSB

OBSERVATION: As I read this familiar story about the lame man who was healed in the Temple at the Gate Beautiful, I am reminded,

IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

The Apostles did not seek glory for themselves. They did not see themselves as the source of life and power. They simply were led by the Holy Spirit and moved in the gifts of the Spirit as the Lord directed.

When the crowd ran to them as if they had worked some great miracle, they replied,

Acts 3:12-13: “…Fellow Israelites, why are you amazed at this? Why do you stare at us, as though we had made him walk by our own power or godliness? [13] The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors,  has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate, though he had decided to release him.” CSB

If this happened today many would be tempted to write a book – “How To Receive Your Miracle From God.” The Apostles never did this. They never took the glory for what Jesus was doing in their midst. They never created faith formulas or methods. They simply moved in the power and leading of the Holy Spirit and gave all the glory to Jesus!

When it comes to faith it is easy to think that we have something to do with it. Yet, the Apostles did not even attribute faith in the name of Jesus to their own strength or that of the lame man.

“So the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.”

It is the faith that comes through Jesus. It is the faith that rests in Jesus. It is the faith of the Son of God working in and through us that brings the miraculous work of God into our lives. We did nothing to deserve it. It is a gift of God from start to finish. Even in the exercise of faith…

IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

This is something very important to remember. May this simple reminder keep me humble as I serve the Lord Jesus Christ. May my life never point to me but always to Him. May I faithfully promote Jesus and help others – giving ALL the glory to Jesus Christ my Lord!
